Angelo De Torres
Instructor
Angelo has had a love and appreciation for music since a very young age. He was introduced to the Latin culture in high school, where he discovered his love and passion for Salsa and Latin music. The diverse forms of expression inherent in Salsa is what captivated him to learn and share his passion.
Trained by Jennifer Aucoin as an instructor and by both Jennifer Aucoin and Clifton Stennett as a dancer, Angelo has also had extensive training with various international instructors such as Billy Fajardo, Katie Marlow & Nelson Flores. Elements of each coach are seen through his dancing and teaching style.
Angelo genuinely enjoys teaching and sharing his passion for dance but more importantly loves to see the growth in others and see them learn and improve. He has performed with the Steps Professional team in various Salsa Congresses and events including Mambo Nights in Bermuda, New York Salsa Congress, Hustle & Salsa Festival in Puerto Rico, The Montreal Salsa Convention, the Canada Salsa Congress and the International Hustle & Salsa Competition in Orlando.
As an instructor at Steps, Angelo has co-choreographed various pieces including the 1st and 2nd Steps Bachata Performance classes and the 1st Latin Hustle Performance class. He is also now assisting with choreography for the Pro team and was a finalist in the 1st Annual Bachata Competition in Toronto.
